In March 2005, I found a posting on the internet that read:
“Julie Baird born 10-10-73. Please contact me I’ve been looking for you. If you were born in Anchorage Alaska 10-10-73 you’re the one…” Julie called and her uncle Randy answered, “We’ve been looking for you for 31 years.” Julie cried. Julie moved from Stockton to Valdez, Alaska to be reunited with her father. She was there one week and ended up in the hospital in critical condition. Anchorage, Alaska 2005 |

Julie’s body was losing blood and she had dropped to 80 pounds.
The pain was so intense that the nurses kept her on morphine. |
|
|
Afraid of rejection she could not tell her father that she had
AIDS. A doctor told her father about Julie’s condition and it did not change his feelings. Bill was just sorry that it took so long to find her. |

Julie was born and lived the first six months of her life in
Alaska before her 17-year-old mother, after a fight with her father, stole her away to San Francisco. Julie is Bill’s first child. He had Julie’s name tattooed on his arm while she was missing. |

Julie in the car with her father Bill. Concerned about her
health, Bill use to stop by up to 5 times a day to see Julie. Taking her on long drives to look for eagles. |
Bill talks with his youngest daughter. Julie is the oldest
of Bill’s five children (four from a second marriage). Julie has trouble connecting with a family she has never known and has only opened up to her father about her life. |

Bill Baird passed away suddenly on Easter Sunday from a
heart-attack after leaving the family dinner Valdez, 2007 |

Fatigued and depressed since her father’s passing, Julie
spends her days in her apartment where she smokes and sleeps with her dogs. Julie ended up in the hospital for a week after the funeral. |
